About the Artist

Rich D’Arcey took a ceramics class from ceramics master Satcha Ahimsa Sisyphus in 1971. He felt an immediate calling but, needing to pay the rent, Rich took a plethora of jobs starting as a studio photographer and subsequently a wedding photographer and ending at Claris International (Apple’s software division). After 20 years as an I.T. Systems Administrator/Programmer he finally got back to what he loved. At the age of 50 he built a ceramic studio in his basement, abandoned programming and began a happier life as a ceramist. While his journey has taken him through a few ceramic classes, most of his education has been self-taught. He now enjoys his life as a full-time ceramist. PD
